1. What is samani service?

    Make calling you more fun for everyone that calls you! Omantel Mobiles Sama'ni Ring Back Tones service gives you a chance to make your friends, family, colleagues etc hear your favorite tunes when they call you. In the bouquet of music offered by Omantel you can select a single tone for all the callers; or different tones for different callers.You can even create your own groups and select a personalized tone for them.So make your friends and dear ones listen to the tones of your choice instead of the conventional and boring 'Tring - Tring' tone and change their mood. Service is available for both Mada & Hayyak subscribers. Easy to understand and no special handsets are required.

2. Has the Samani Service been upgraded?

    Yes, Omantel 's Samani cRBT service has been upgraded and many new features and options have been now made available to users seeing the global trends and using the advancement in technology. The new Samani comes with a better Subscription pack for all Omantel subscribers.

3. What are the Samani Service features?

   You can use many of the new interfaces to access this service. The interfaces now include Samani Web Portal,Samani WAP page, SMS interface and the IVR interface by simply calling 1236 and following the instructions. You can also copy tone of any other Mobile number when you call it or by using the IVR and other interfaces. You can also call Omantel customer care for any help.
You can assign one 'all caller' tone for all of your callers. You can assign a fixed album or a dynamic album or a personal album can play a different song in a shuffle for each new call.
All tones purchased will automatically be deposited into your 'Juke Box' and can be used by you as and when you want without any extra charges. You can even choose to play the tones in your Jukebox in a shuffle as part of your own 'Personal Album'
You can assign individual tones for specific 'special' callers. You can assign up to tones for five of your favourite callers.
You can assign individual tones for specific groups which are named Family, Friends, VIP, Coleagues, Relatives; and you can add up to 10 callers in each group.
You can assign Status tones to share your temporary status with your callers. You can record your own tone tailored to your own preferences whether a song or music or poems or any other. (Tailor Tone) You can gift tones and Samani subscription to any other Mobile number.
If you like your friends tone when you call them you can copy the tone while it is playing using ' * 9 ' to copy.
Your organization can set Corporate tones to play for predetermined hours during the day.


4. How can I access Sama'ni? . (What are the interfaces available to access Samani Service in Oman and how to activate the service on any of the interfaces.)

    Via IVR : Call 1236, register your language and then proceed to listen and you can set the Samani tones or albums of your choice. Follow the simple instructions on 1236 to listen ot tones, download or gift the tone of your choice for all the callers, special callers or for different groups. You can listen to a preview of the tones before selecting it as your Samani tone.
Via SMS : SMS to 90009: Just use the SMS commands mentioned in the SMS Commands list. Send HELP to 90009 to get the list of features and access commands for those features .
Via Web Page : You can search, listen to tones, download, gift, modify and access the Samani service using the new interface on http://samani.omantel.om
Via WAP Page on your mobile : You can search, download, gift, modify and access the Samani service using the new interface on http://samani.omantel.om/wapcrbt
Via Omantel Customer Care : Call 1234 from your mobile and ask Customer Care for help. NOTE:- STK interface is not available for the new Subscription pack.


5. What were the charges for the Samani downloads under old Tone Pack available in 2013.

    Tone Pack had download charges @ 500 bz with the tone valid for 1 month only; Tailor Tone charges @ 800 bz with the tailor tone valid for 1 month only. While the old Tone pack has now been discontinued, the existing subscribers with tones can still continue in the same pack till they unsubscribe or stop renewal or once they choose to upgrade to the new Subsciption pack.

6. What are the charges for the Samani downloads, under new Subscription Pack using the IVR Interface

NOTE:- The Weekly subscription will be automatically renewed every 7 days and tones will be auto-renewed after every 90 days from the date of selection. If you don't wish your tones or your service to be renewed just change or cancel that by calling 1236 or by using the other interfaces.


7. What are the charges for the Samani Subscription Pack under the different interfaces like WEB, WAP, SMS commands, etc.

    All tariffs are same as above. IVR charges do not apply on the other interfaces.
SMS to 90009 is free of charge.
You can browse and listen to tones before selection - there is no IVR charges


8. What is star to Copy feature.

    Call any Omantel Mobile number and while tone is playing press ' * ' then ' 9 ' to download tone as Default tone on your own Omantel mobile number.

8. How can you copy another Omantel user‘s Samani?

    You can use IVR, Samani Web Selfcare portal, sms commands, or use Star to copy method when you call another cRBT subscriber.

9. How can I check my Samani profile?

    You can call IVR, or access Samani Web selfcare or WAP and check your profile details as required.

10. How to cancel / deactivate the Samani Service?

    You can call IVR, or access Samani Web selfcare, WAP or call Omantel customer care and deactivate the subscription.

11. How can you restrict a specific caller from hearing your Samani tones? You can Blacklist or Exclude 3 to 5 callers

   You can call IVR, or access Samani Web selfcare or WAP or use SMS interface to blacklist any number from hearing your cRBT tone.

12. How can you hold your Samani for a few days without deactivating the service ?

   You can call IVR, or access Samani Web selfcare or WAP to HOLD your Samani tone from playing

13. How you can activate a specific Samani tone only to a group of users?

   You can call IVR, or access Samani Web selfcare or WAP or SMS to activate tones for different groups of contacts

14. How you can set a selected Samani only for a specific Time, Day or Date?

   You can call IVR, or access Samani Web selfcare or WAP to activate Conditional settings tones for specific day/ time/date.

15. How you can create a customized Personal Album of your choice?

   You can call IVR, or access Samani Web selfcare or WAP to and download / manage tones into a shuffle play mode ( Personal Album)
For creating personal album from songs already downloaded click access your "Juke Box' and select downloaded tones to be set into Personal (shuffle) Album

16. How will you pay for the service ? Postpaid & Prepaid

   If you are Mada customer, the tone download, weekly subscriptoion and IVR charges if any will be added to your monthly bill, if you are Hayyak customer, the tone download, weekly subscription and IVR charges if any will be deducted directly from your credit balance

17. Is there any restriction on the tone, does it end?

   The tone will now be given an extended validity period of 90 days from the tone downloaded date and after the 90 days it will be automatically renewed (you will pay 400 Baisa for the tone renewal if you choose to continue. If you don't wish that your tone to be renewed you can change or cancel it by calling 1236 or visiting Samani interfaces like Web page/ WAP page or Omantel Customer Care.

18. How do you know the expiry date of the tone ?

   A reminder message will be sent to you 2 days before the expiry date so that you have enough time to cancel if you don't wish that your tone to be renewed.

19. What if samani service active, and one of the people contacted me and my phone was off or out of range of coverage?

   The caller hears the usual out of reach announcement not Sama'ni Tone.

20. Is the service works with roaming? Do I pay extra money for it?

   Omantel Sama'ni service will be working when you are roaming. No you will not pay extra money for that feature.

21. Is it possible to record my own tone in samani service ?

   Yes, you can. You need to call 1236 and record your own Tone through IVR or can upload your wav or mp3 file through Omantel website.

    How to use Samani Web Portal

1. How to register on the Samani Web Portal?

    Access the Samani service using the new interface on:- http://samani.omantel.om
 Click on the ‘Register’ button, fill the requested information and click on ‘Register’.


2. How to ‘Sign in’ to the Samani Portal?

   When you register on this portal, your password will be sent to your handset via SMS.
   Type in your mobile number & this password in the empty tabs.
    Click ‘login’.

3. How can you search for a Samani that you like?

   Go to ‘Samani Search’ and type in the name of the song /artist/album of the Samani you have in mind.
   You can also select from the drop down tab for categories.
   Click ‘Search’.

4. How can you listen to a Samani before you select it?

   Simply click on ‘sound symbol’ in front of the desired Samani.

5. How to activate a Samani as a default Samani for all your callers to hear?

   Click on ‘download icon’ in front of the desired Samani to be downloaded and select Single Tone option button

6. How to activate a Samani as specially caller Samani?

   Click on ‘download icon’in front of the desired Samani and select the ‘Special Caller option’.
   Enter the special caller Mobile number(s).


8. How can you check the currently activated Samani on your connection?

   Go to ‘My profile’and click on ‘Samani Details’.

9. How can you copy another Omantel user‘s Samani?

   Go to Home page and click on ‘Copy Samani’in the Samani section.
   Enter the Omantel mobile number of the user who already has the Samani that you desire in ‘Source mobile number’.
   Then click on ‘Copy’ . Or call Omantel Mobile number during tone is playing press   and 9 to download tone as Default    tone

10. How can you check your Samani profile?

   Click on ‘My Account’and check your profile details as required.

11. How to deactivate the Samani Service?

   Click on ‘Un-Subscribe’in ‘My Account’.

12. How can you subscribe/activate a Samani Daily on the Samani Portal?

   Kindly note that the Samani Daily Pack subscription is not available on Samani Portal at the moment.

13. How can you restrict a specific caller from hearing your Samani tones?

   Click on the ‘Restricted Caller icon’ on ‘My Profile’
   Enter the mobile number/s you wish to restrict.
   Click on ‘Add’.

14. How can you hold your Samani for a few days without deactivating the service?

   Click on ‘Samani hold’ icon on ‘My Profile’
   Click on ‘Hold’.

15. How you can activate a specific Samani tone only to a group of users?

   Click on the ‘Buy’ icon of the desired Samani.
   Select ‘Group Callers’ option.
   Select the ‘Group type’ out of five categories: Family, Friends, Relatives, Colleagues,VIP.
         They are:
         (1) Friends.
         (2) Family.
         (3) Relatives.
         (4) Colleagues.
         (5) VIP.
      Enter the mobile number’s for each group and click ‘next’.
